FAQs

Below are Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Q. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?

    A. Containaway Mobile Self Storage has been operating in Sydney since 2002.

  • Q. ARE THE MODULES LARGE ENOUGH TO STORE ALL OF MY HOUSEHOLD GOODS INCLUDING LOUNGES, ENTERTAINMENT UNITS ETC?

    A. Yes, the storage modules have been made especially to store household goods. To help with estimating, there is a storage calculator page on our website. All you need to do is tick the items you will be storing and it will calculate the amount of storage required. As a general rule, 1 standard/apartment module is needed per quarter houseful of furniture (or small 1 bed apartment). Each 10m3 module can safely hold approx 1 tonne. A quick call to our 1300 88 02 03 number will help answer any other questions.

  • Q. DO YOU PACK MY STORAGE MODULES FOR ME?

    A. You can either pack your module yourself or for a fee one of our trained removals professional can load for you. Simply give us a call and one of our friendly Containaway consultants can discuss available loading options.

  • Q. HOW CAN I MAKE A BOOKING?

    A. Simply book online using our online quote form or call 1300 88 02 03 and speak to one of our friendly consultants.

  • Q. WHAT IS THE LEAD TIME FOR A DELIVERY?

    A. A few days notice is usually sufficient for a mid-week delivery to be arranged – If you are looking for a Friday delivery so you can pack over the weekend usually about a week’s notice is necessary – Fridays & Mondays always get booked out first.

  • Q. WHEN ARE DELIVERIES (AND PICK-UPS) DONE?

    A. Monday – Friday (except public holidays) between 8am and 1pm.

  • Q. WHAT ARE CONTAINAWAY’S REQUIREMENTS FOR DELIVERY?

    A. The standard modules can either be placed in an off-street car parking area (eg driveway, backyard, grassed area) provided the height clearance is 2.8m and the width is 2.5m. They can also be parked on the side of the street (just like a vehicle) provided it is ordinary (non-restricted) parking. If it is permit or timed parking you will need to get permission from your local Council for us to leave them overnight or for a couple of nights if you prefer. The apartment modules can be placed in a garage or carport provided the height clearance is 2m & the width is 2.2m. If the modules are placed on your own property (eg driveway, garage, carport) they can be left there for a few days or up to a week if you like. If you live or are moving to an apartment block and there is a visitor parking area that might be suitable, you may need to get permission from the body corporate (it’s important to keep everybody happy!). Please check the storage calculator page on our website to determine the number of modules you require. If you are not sure we would prefer to deliver an extra one in the initial delivery – if you do not use it there will be no extra charge. On the other hand, if you underestimate and we are required to do another delivery, a fee will be applicable.

  • Q. HOW CAN PAYMENTS BE MADE?

    A. You can pay by direct debit payments or credit card. We accept MasterCard, Visa, AMEX and DINERS. Please note credit cards incur a credit card fee.

  • Q. IS INSURANCE AVAILABLE?

    A. Yes, insurance on your goods while they are in storage is available through the Self Storage Association. The premium is $1.65 per month for every $1000 insurance cover. Containaway can provide you with a Product Disclosure Statement for that purpose. Our Containaway consultants are happy to discuss your insurance need and provide further information.

  • Q. IS THERE ANY FEE TO ACCESS MY GOODS WHILE THEY ARE IN STORAGE?

    A. There is no cost involved in accessing your goods at our storage facility. You will need to give us at least 5 business days notice so that we can have your modules ready & waiting for you. As the modules are stacked and stored inside our warehouse it takes a considerable amount of time for us to retrieve them. If you cancel your booking or do not attend after your request has been sent through to our dispatch, a no-show fee will apply.

  • Q. WHERE ARE THE MODULES STORED?

    A. Once the modules are delivered back to our self storage facility at Greenacre, the weatherproof covers are removed and the modules are stacked inside our secure, weatherproof warehouse.

  • Q. HOW MUCH NOTICE IS REQUIRED FOR MY GOODS TO BE RETURNED AT THE END OF THE RENTAL TERM?

    A. 14 days notice is required to terminate the storage contract. Generally 14 business days notice is sufficient for us to arrange to return your modules to you. Extra notice is necessary in the lead-up to Christmas. Alternatively, your goods can be vacated from our self storage facility.

  • Q. THERE IS NO AVAILABLE PARKING IN MY AREA FOR THE MODULE TO BE PLACED AND I DO NOT HAVE A GARAGE. CAN I BRING MY GOODS TO YOU?

    A. Yes, absolutely.
